WEFTEC Carbon Offset

Thanks to the generous donations from WEFTEC attendees and exhibitors, WEF was able to offset 2,370 tons of greenhouse gas emissions generated by travel to and from WEFTEC23 in Chicago through the United Nations’ offsetting program!

This program allows individuals and organizations to compensate for emissions they can't avoid by supporting projects that reduce emissions elsewhere. This year, we supported two projects—the Biogas Project at MH Bio-Ethanol Distillery in Cambodia and the Avoidance of Methane Emissions from Municipal Solid Waste and Food Waste through Composting in India.
